Our neighborhood is Ban Thong Kang in Sok Pa Luang district of Vientiane, named after Wat Sok Pa Luang  (Wat is a Buddhist monastery, Pa is forest. Pix to come soon). Our street is Soy Siip, Street 10. Our house is the one on your right just beyond where the paved road ends_ a World Bank big cheese paid for the street to be paved to his house, not an inch more. We are the only side street to be partly paved in this part of town. We don't have a house number. A taxi driver told me that the governmment was finally working on a plan to name streets and number houses.
